What is Eveready Youth Group?
Eveready Youth is a weekly event where high school (year 8-12) students gather to hang out in an open, friendly atmosphere and take part in fun, interesting and often strange activities. In the past these have included:
- group games, board games, messy games
- pool parties
- ball games nights
- movie nights
- coin-toss hikes
- photo-scavenger hunts - right across town
- measuring things around town with bananas
- climbing Devil's Peak and Dutchmen's Stern
- 40 Hour Famine - including sleeping overnight in a make-shift slum
- bible studies - down to earth discussion about real life stuff
- and more: find out what's happening next
Where is it?
Eveready Youth usually meets at the Port Augusta Uniting Church, Chapel Street, Port Augusta (see map). It's next door to the Flinders Hotel, near the Post Office.
Sometimes we meet elsewhere (eg: Lions Park, Ryan Mitchel Swimming Centre). But to keep things simple, it's always at the Uniting Church unless the Events Program or "What's On" webpage tell you it's somewhere else.
Who makes this happen?
Eveready Youth Group is run by it's Youth Leaders, a team of young, creative and enthusiastic volunteers. It also receives valuable support from members of the Uniting Church congregation and the wider community.
Eveready Youth Group is a ministry of the Port Augusta Uniting Church, and operates under the umbrella of the Uniting Church in Australia.
